Llámenme insistente, pero nuevamente Katy Perry me ha vuelto a fascinar con uno de sus videos. Resulta que ayer estrenó el clip correspondiente a su pegadizo tema "This is how we do" y además de tomar inspiración del arte, es una obra de arte en sí. Incluye inspiración de uno de mis pintores favoritos, Piet Mondrian, y se nutre de un estilo noventoso basado en colores pasteles.

El responsable detrás de este impecable video es un diseñador turco llamado Nasir Mazhar, que se ocupó del traje blanco y rosa que luce Katy en este video, así como el look Gangster Pop que se luce especialmente en su maquillaje y pelo. Se lo conoce por vestir a Rihanna, Nicki Minaj y por crear varias piezas para la cabeza para la extravagante (que solía ser genial) Lady Gaga.

En fin, no extiendo más la introducción y los invito a disfrutar cada una de las capturas y sus detalles para sumergirse en el maravilloso mundo de Katy Perry una vez más:

Podés estar a favor o en contra de su música, pero no se puede negar que, en el reino de la producción visual, tanto de sus videos como la personal, Katy Perry es la reina.

La cantante norteamericana lanzó hace meras horas el videoclip de su nuevo single "Dark Horse", dejándome con la boca abierta. No por la canción en sí -aunque un poco pegadiza sea-, sino por la fotografía del mundo egipcio creado especialmente para el clip. Este es uno de esos videos que me recuerdan a la época de oro de MTV, dónde podíamos disfrutar de todo tipo de música acompañada de imagenes minuciosamente pensadas por sus realizadores.

¿Que hace que este sea tan especial? Creo que las capturas hablan por si mismas, dejándonos ver la atención a los detalles mas mínimos como el nail art con glifos egipcios o el vestuario de los extras que solo se ven tras un manto borroso que nunca llega a hacerse claro. Cada uno de los looks de la cantante y de los personajes esta creado de manera impecable y vale la pena mirar una y otra vez este video para disfrutar de cada uno de ellos.

El equipo creativo detrás del video se forma principalmente por la compañía de producción Motion Theory, responsable de los videos de Boom Boom Pow de Black Eyed Peas y Chasing Pavements de Adele; y el director Matthew Cullen.

No soy muy amiga de hacer reseñas de espectáculos, pero no me puedo quedar sin comentar algunas cositas del show que Gaga dio anoche en el estadio de River. No solo fue un gran show escenográficamente, coreográficamente y en cuanto al vestuario, sino que ella me sorprendió de una manera especial.

Soy bastante escéptica de las bandas extranjeras que llegan al país y en un pobre español repiten las siguientes: "Hola, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Los amo, Gracias", en cualquier órden y repitiendose durante la noche. Pero anoche, Stefani me mandó a casa con un gustito diferente. Si se la pasó gritando Argentina durante todo el concierto (demasiadas veces tal vez), pero se la vio tan comprometida con el público y hasta emocionada en la parte mas tranquila del recital que no fue ese típico recital de cualquier artista que ves en un DVD y es, básicamente, canción tras canción, casi como si fueran muchos videoclips uno atrás del otro.

Gaga empezó mas tirando a fría, con una seguidilla de 6 o 7 canciones con un gran despliegue de vestuario (y cuando digo gran es muy grande), y luego fue entrando en calor con el público, charlando, riendo, haciendo bromas con muchísima naturalidad. Como Show Woman es un 10. Y descubrir su lado tierno fue algo que nunca pensé que podría aclamar. Si tienen la posibilidad de ver el show en cualquier parte del mundo que sea, no se lo pierdan, vale cada centavo de lo que pueda llegar a costar.

¿La perlita de la noche? Su momento de respiro donde se sienta en el borde del escenario y se pone a ver todos los regalos que le tiran. Una afortunada le había hecho una camiseta de Argentina con el número 10 y el nombre Princess High y ella muy contenta se la puso, haciendo subir automáticamente a dicha chica al escenario, junto a 2 personas más que eligió del Monster Pit (el círculo que queda encerrado entre la pasarela del escenario). En un momento, fue bombardeada de regalos y creo que no se la vió venir porque no entendía nada de lo que estaba pasando. Pero lo mejor fue cuando le tiraron un paquete, rompió el papel preguntando si era café pero descubriendo que no lo era. Abrió dicho paquete, lo olió y preguntó si se podía fumar. Era Yerba Mate. Risas y una siguiente acotación de que el té también se puede fumar.

Y lo que mas destaco de todo no es lo que nombré, aunque en parte sí. Esperando para entrar me enteré de como era el sistema de quién entraba al Monster Pit o no y me pareció muy justo y una buena manera de recompensar a los verdaderos fans que darían cualquier cosa por conocerla. Toda persona con entrada General que formara la fila a partir de las 8 de la mañana del mismo día del recital y fuese disfrazada era candidata de que parte de la organización del evento eligiera para acceder a esa codiciada zona y, como si fuera poco, pasar a conocer a Gaga en lo que muchos prometían ser un encuentro muy personal con ella. 100 fueron los afortunados que pudieron conversar con ella.

Tampoco me quiero olvidar de un detalle que puede estar totalmente guionado para satisfacer al público, pero se sintió muy bien escucharlo de boca de ella y fue que personalmente agradeció a toda la gente que compró su entrada porque dice saber lo dificil que es para todos poder hacerlo. Podrá ser demagogia o no, pero es lindo pensar que para los artistas no se trata de llenar estadios, juntar las bolsas de dinero e irse corriendo; se trata en mayor parte de hacer lo que aman y divertir a miles con su performance, y por supuesto que anoche Lady Gaga demostró y aseguró que tiene el corazón puesto en lo que hace.

I'm not to fond of writing reviews for shows but I can't not comment a few things about the show that Gaga gave on the stadium of River Plate in Buenos Aires last night. Not only it was a marvelous show choreographically speaking and in terms of scenery and costumes, but it also featured a very special Lady Gaga that surprised me.

I'm pretty skeptical about foreign artist coming to our country and repeating in a poor spanish the following words: 'Hola, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Los Amo, Gracias', in any order and repeating them many times during the show. But last night, Stefani sent me home with a different thought about the concert. Yes, she did spent the whole show repeating Argentina (too many times, maybe) but she looked so focused on the audience and even kinda moved in the more quiet part of the show that it made me realize that it wasn't that typicall concert of any artist that you can watch in a DVD and it is basically song after song, pretty much like it was several videos played one after the other.

Gaga started the show being kinda cold toward the audience during the first six or seven song which featured a huge display of dresses and wigs but then she started to get more involved with the crowd, talking to them, laughing, making jokes and showing her bum without giving a hang. As a Show Woman she is a big 10. And discovering her sweet side was something that I never thought I'd say. If you have the possibility to attend her show, don't doubt it, it's worth every dime.

¿The hightlight of the show? Her moment to calm down where she sits on the edge of the stage and receives all the presents that people throw at her. A lucky girl had made her an Argentinian football (soccer) t-shirt with the number 10 in the back and the name Princess High. She happily looked at her and asked who made it for her, put it on and made the girl go up to the stage with her, along with two other people from the Monster Pit. The best part was when somebody threw at her a packet that she ripped off asking if it was coffee to discover that it wasn't. She opened the pack, smelled it and asked if she could smoke that. It was Yerba Mate, a local green infusion. She laughed and then said that you could smoke tea if you wanted, too.

But what I really want to highlight it isn't what I already wrote, although it kinda is. Waiting in the line to get in, someone told me how the Monster Pit worked and what a great way to give back to the true fans was. Every person that had a Regular ticket and started to get in line at 8am in the morning of the day of the show and arrived wearing a signature Gaga outfit or any similar costume had the chance to get picked by the organizers of the concert to enter the Monster Pit and meet her before the concert in a very personal encounter. A hundred lucky people had the chance to do that.

I also don't want to forget about a little detail that may be in the script to satisfy the audience but it felt so nice hearing it directly from her mouth and it was that she thanked everybody that bought the ticket because she claimed to have known how expensive tickets were and how hard can it be to buy them. It may be demagogy or not but it is nice to think that for artists it is not only about making money and run away to their hometowns but it is also about doing what they love and make thousans have fun with their performance, and of course that last night, Lady Gaga proved and asured that she has her heart set on what she does.

¿Cuán emocionados están por el disco nuevo de No Doubt? ¡Yo estoy como loca! Me encanta la banda desde Rock Steady y seguí a Gwen en sus días de solista pero tener nueva música de No Doubt es genial. La combinación perfecta de Reggae, Rock y Pop más el estilismo de la banda = ¡combo perfecto!

Amo todo lo que Gwen se pone y su estilo es tan único que no hay gente que se destaque en moda en el mundo de la música como ella. O sea, me encantaron sus días de L.A.M.B. pero creo que la mejor Gwen es la Gwen de ND. ¿No son alucinantes esos pantalones? (Todavía estoy intentando decifrar que es esa cola que se ve en la tela blanca y negra) Su pelo, los zapatos, su manera de hacer lucir una remera polo con pantalones estampados... Perfecta.

¡Ahora quiero más! ¡Necesito ver que se va a poner en esta nueva etapa de No Doubt!

How excited are you about the new No Doubt album? I'm crazy as hell! I love the band since their Rock Steady album and I've followed Gwen in her solo days but having ND's music back is amazing! The perfect combination of Reggae, Rock and Pop plus the amazing styling of the band = perfect combo!

I'm in love of everything Gwen wears and her style is so unique that they aren't many people that stand out in fashion in the world of music like her. I mean, I loved her L.A.M.B. days but I think that the best Gwen is the No Doubt Gwen. Aren't you loving those crazy pants? (I'm still trying to figure out what's that 'tail' in the black and white print) Her hair, her shoes, her way to rock a polo shirt with statement pants! Perfect!

Now I want more! Need to see what is she gonna wear in this new ND stage of her life!
