That time of the year has arrived again: the day that my age grows by one unit. I'm not too keen on getting older and older but this year I really felt like celebrating my birthday so I invited my friends to a tea party at home. Lots of love, presents and joy were in the air yesterday, July 23rd, the anniversary of the day I was born.

I didn't have much time to prepare everything that I wanted but in the morning I made some décor for the party. The theme for this year was black, white and red, so I dressed the sweetener bottle with a gingham print as well as some tea boxes and every cake had its own little sign with a made up name for each of them!

Thank you to all my beloved friends who where here and also for those who couldn't make it and sent tons of love through the different social networks!

22 is not a terrible number, after all...

So, I have plenty of free time now that I have my winter break from College so I decided to pay a visit to my grandmother's house and rummage through her closet. She had this box with tons of old clothing that in some point in her life stopped fitting her and a few shirts that belonged to my dad when he was young and I don't really know why he doesn't need them yet but anyways...

Not everything was recyclable but I brought home a few things, including what you see in the photos. A collared dress, wide pleated pants, a sailor-ish shirt and some wide leg printed bermudas was what I decided that I would DIY first.

The well-known stylist Robert Verdi is quite a creative person. One day he decided that he could give al alternate use to his Hermés scarves and gave the kind people at Vans the project of turning them into comfy custom shoes. Aren't they amazing? I think it would probably be the only way that I'd use Vans. Loving them already?

Andre De Freitas is an amazing photographer and illustrator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Animation.. In his website he says this about himself: "The concept of stillness captured my imagination, and I focused more on illustration. Instead of just drawing, I tried to imagine myself taking photos of my subjects. That way the illusion of stillness would be a little more believable, almost like a photograph. After that, my insertion into the world of photography was almost based on instinct."

How excited are you about the new No Doubt album? I'm crazy as hell! I love the band since their Rock Steady album and I've followed Gwen in her solo days but having ND's music back is amazing! The perfect combination of Reggae, Rock and Pop plus the amazing styling of the band = perfect combo!

I'm in love of everything Gwen wears and her style is so unique that they aren't many people that stand out in fashion in the world of music like her. I mean, I loved her L.A.M.B. days but I think that the best Gwen is the No Doubt Gwen. Aren't you loving those crazy pants? (I'm still trying to figure out what's that 'tail' in the black and white print) Her hair, her shoes, her way to rock a polo shirt with statement pants! Perfect!

Now I want more! Need to see what is she gonna wear in this new ND stage of her life!

Proving that fashion always reinvents itself, photographer and filmmaker Michael Galinsky publishes these photos taken by himself when he was 20 years old in 1989. He and a friend decided to spend six weeks driving across the country, capturing images of mall life. They started in New York and ended in North Carolina.

“At the time, the mall was the new public space, the new community center where people would interact,” Galinsky told TODAY.COM. He had no idea what those pictures would mean two decades later. “This was pre-Internet, pre-cellphone, there was smoking in malls, it was before the Gulf War. It was this weird moment in time where things were getting ready to change,” he said. “Sometimes when you’re taking pictures, you don’t know what is or is not going to be there 20 years later.”

I spot so many trend that could easily be used right now! The photos are amazing if you want to look at them from an artistic point of view but the time traveling with all those outfits is so much fun! Have you ever thought about what you are gonna think when you see photos of your look nowadays in 20 years? The possibilities are endless!

Over in Amsterdam, you can lust after the goods in the Museum of Bags and Purses, which boasts a collection of 3,500 bags, starting with models from the Middle Ages and up to the 21st century with designs by YSL, Versace, and Chanel. The museum's conversation piece, however, is the bedazzled cupcake purse used by Charlotte's adopted daughter in the "Sex and the City" movie.

'Before I Die' is a Street Art project started by Candy Chang a arquitect and graphic designer that wants to make cities more emotional. So with help from old and new friends, she turned the side of an abandoned house in her neighborhood in New Orleans into a giant chalkboard and stenciled it with the sentence “Before I die I want to _______.” so anyone walking by can pick up a piece of chalk, reflect on their lives, and share their personal aspirations in public space.

Stripes have always had a big presence in all the collections in the last few years, but this is definetely the year of the black and white stripes. They are a big yes on pants, nails and even shoes, but you have to be careful and not to abuse this trend and be on the skinny line that divides fashion from Beetlejuice.

This past March 24th in downtown Manhattan, the exhibition The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classics revisited by Karl Lagerfeld & Carine Roitfel was launched. This exhibit its an ode to the timeless style of the black jacket that Coco Chanel created as a key to her collections. And up to this date, it remains being in.

The exhibition shows 113 photographs of celebrities and iconic people wearing this piece, each of them in an unique way. Between the muses were people like Sarah Jessica Parker, Anna Wintour, Kirsten Dunst and Uma Thurman, amongst many others. Each photograph was taken by Karl himself who is more than a fan of the photography and long footages. The exhibition closed on June 15th but now it is being transformed into a book with all the images that participated in it.

Personally, I love Karl's vision of minimalism and simplicity, and what a better way to show the amazing Chanel jacket that with photographs with simple yet effective composition.

Podés ver el resto de las fotos en la web de The Little Black Jacket.

You can see the rest of the photos in the The Little Black Jacket website.
