Demostrando que la moda siempre se reinventa (posiblemente sin quererlo), el fotógrafo y cineaste Michael Galinsky publica estas fotos que él mismo tomó cuando tenía 20 años en 1989. Él y un amigo decidieron pasar 6 semanas manejando por todo Estados Unidos, capturando imagenes de la vida real de los shoppings. Comenzaron en nueva York y terminaron en Carolina del Norte.

"En ese entonces, los shoppings eran los nuevos espacios públicos, los nuevos centros de las comunidades dónde la gente interactuaba", Galinksy dijo en TODAY.COM. No tenía ni idea de lo que esas fotos significarían dos décadas mas tarde. "Esto fue antes de Internet, los celulares, se podía fumar en espacios cerrados, fue todo antes de la Guerra del Golfo. Era ese raro momento en el tiempo cuando las cosas estaban a punto de cambiar", agregó. "A veces, cuando estás sacando fotos no tenés idea de lo que será de ellas en 20 años".

Yo veo tantas tendencias que hoy en día podrían ser usadas. Las fotos son increíbles en sí, si se quiere mirarlas desde un punto de vista artístico pero el viaje en el tiempo con todos esos looks, ¡es muy divertido! ¿Alguna vez pensaste en lo que vas a decir en 20 años cuando mires fotos de tu look actual?

Proving that fashion always reinvents itself, photographer and filmmaker Michael Galinsky publishes these photos taken by himself when he was 20 years old in 1989. He and a friend decided to spend six weeks driving across the country, capturing images of mall life. They started in New York and ended in North Carolina.

“At the time, the mall was the new public space, the new community center where people would interact,” Galinsky told TODAY.COM. He had no idea what those pictures would mean two decades later. “This was pre-Internet, pre-cellphone, there was smoking in malls, it was before the Gulf War. It was this weird moment in time where things were getting ready to change,” he said. “Sometimes when you’re taking pictures, you don’t know what is or is not going to be there 20 years later.”

I spot so many trend that could easily be used right now! The photos are amazing if you want to look at them from an artistic point of view but the time traveling with all those outfits is so much fun!
